The rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a member of the Lagomorpha and is not, therefore, a rodent. Rabbits are typically grey-brown but can also have sandy or black coats. They live in holes in the ground where they spend most of the day, coming above ground in the dusk and early evening.
More information about the rabbit can be found (in Dutch) on the website of the Dutch native mammal research and protection organisation (Zoogdiervereniging).
